Wow. How did I mess that up? I was even reading up on the other thread about this year's Best of the West show starting in 1 week. That's right around the corner!!

I agree, the show in 2008 was a great show and definitely one of the best that I have ever attended. But the show at Santa Margarita is awesome too. 2010 was outstanding and last year was even better. I am looking forward to the national there next year. I wish I could be there this year but as many of you know my oldest son graduates this year and the ceremony is Sunday of the long weekend.

Lots of hard work there, Chad. It is amazing to me how much guys like you can get done in no time at all. It is really watching a master at work.

Looking at those cylinders and seeing all the rest of the pictures, I can see why Billy standing on the crank and bouncing up and down had no effect! As old-iron-habit said, Luther's recollection of turning the engine over and adding oil through the spark plug holes a "few years ago" must have been a few decades ago.

Most of the time all these old Cat engines surprise me by awakening easily from their slumber. On the other hand, a few end up like this, so abused and neglected that you are amazed at every turn. It is a good thing this is in your good hands to get put right and run again.
