Hi
What is the correct mag for my Caterpillar TwentyEight serial no 4F823? I also wonder if this pump is original or not:whistle: When looking at pictures of other TwentyEight crawlers most of them has a cover where my pump fits but some of the parts I have seems to be original. Is this where the generator suppose to go?

Looks like the generator has been savaged and parts used for a non-original pump drive

STEPHEN, thanks!
Then I need a magneto and a generator or just the cover for it. This is the second TwentyEigth I know of in Sweden so parts are hard to find over here.

Original Mag is an Eisemann CM-4.
Generator mount is a standard SAE three bolt arrangement. Finding a cover should not be a big problem.

Old Magnet and Caterpillar 13, thanks!
Are there any drawbacks with the Eisemann CM-4? Think I have read something about lack of spareparts or something. Wico X are more common, need att special mount to fit though.
Homemade plate over generator mount, good idea.

Two drawbacks of using the original mag are
1)very expensive.
2) may lead to an obsession of wanting your tractor to be perfect.
