I have both a std. ten and a hi ten, both run but when they sit around for awhile like over the winter months the carbs always seems to give me a problem. Is there anyother carburator out there that will fit these tractors? Thanks for any help.

There is no direct easy replacement. I have seen anything from an updraft Marvel Schebler to a side draft DLTX off a JD H installed on a TEN. Maybe someone else knows of something.

There is a fluid called Sta-Bil to add to gas to keep it from causing storage problems with gas so you might try it. Hardware stores usually keep it possibly garden tractor dealers and if you have a fuel shutoff from the tank try shutting it off before shutting the tractor down and let it burn all the gas out of the carb. I do this with my snow blower and it always works between storms and when it,s in storage over the summer and fall, just a thought.

mike,
Might be a problem with this new gas they have anymore. I have noticed I can't leave gas in the fuel tanks for more than a couple of months or it will go bad. Prior, i could leave gas in the fuel tanks all winter with no problems.

That is what happens with the new oxygenated fuel. There is about 10% ethanol blended into the fuel. In some states they do not mark it on the pump. Using Sta-Bil will retard this fuel degradation.

I have seen the with many diff cars the Model T carb and few sports cars are side draft just bolt it up or or get a short 1in. sweet and weld flang on each end then you can use up draft one from a 9N , Wis, V4 or anyonter small engine and you can sell me the 10 carbs for enough to but the other stuff new

My PV Fifteen had a carb off of a 200 CID. Ford Falcon engine on it when I got it. The tractor ran very well with that carb, but I did not leave it on very long. I kept the set up for a few years that then tossed it.
Thanks
Ken
