I got my new plates yesterday from the Catcave for my L1189 TWENTY. I thought some here might want to see them.
The SNs still need to be stamped on them. To get to this point, I had to do some research by looking at other machines of similar vintage. In that process, I found CAT had made some changes along the line. I want to thank Kent Bates and Dave Tallon for graciously sharing their knowledge for the changes and what plates my tractor would have had originally. We were hindered by the fact that the seatback on mine had been replaced sometime during its life so it had NO HOLES to show the size of the original plates or where they were positioned. Hats off also to Catman for working hard at providing these beautifully finished and authentic plates! Thanks guys!
Now I have to make the rest of the tractor look the same quality! Kent says I will hit another wall when I get to the hood latches but that is a fair ways off.

Very nice looking plates you have there Jan.
I am in the same boat in the latches I currently have two complete and two that are apart but so corroded inside the springs and bolts have twisted off leaving a unknown state. Honestly thinking about throwing them on the mill and seeing if I can clean it up then replace the bolt and spring and good to go. Only concern is I am not familiar with them at the moment not knowing how it was assembled back in the day am cautious about scraping one out since they are hard to find.
Curious to see if someone would have a disassembled one with some pictures sitting around, or can give me some dimensions to try to save them. Otherwise in the hunt for a few myself.
Worst case if I could save one I would consider to reproduce a few of it came down to it.
Someone awhile back had mentioned reproducing some tho I never got a response from them on the matter.

Recently received some reprodution brass plates for my early Twenty tractor from a guy across the pond. They look amazing and will be a nice addition to the tractor that is missing all the old brass tags!
