Here are a few grins.

Little D2 rescued:) my big crawler after the bank gave way under right track. 10k vs 24k

I had been pushing fill over the bank and packing it with the crawler.
All was going too well. Then rutro reorg. (think Astro from The Jetsons).
I got closer and parallel to the edge. Bad idea.
Well hearing things in my brain about "stop when you first get stuck"
But did I listen no. So I got it more stuck and very worse off.
Well after letting go of the seat. I got off and fired up the D2

Paid out some cable and waited for extra hands. (oh yeah this was at 4:30 soon to be dark) Unstable soil under crawler and rain forcast. NOT GOOD.

YEAH Wifey got home. rush to meet her. HELP, I says.

Now she does not drive anything but her Vanagon and the Cub Cadet 102.
SO after a very brief training period on how to engage the clutch to winch me out. I left her:confused: on the D2.
We arranged a signal for her to pull. While I crawled onto the Big Crawler.
We were successful. Afew hiccups in the rescue. D2 operator was afraid of being dragged. ( I had 4' 6"x6" timbers under each track) The D2 was dragged about 4 feet. Once she kept the cable reeling in we came on out. WHEW.

Picked up and put the toys away for the night. I will have to straighten out my mess tomorrow before we get some rain or it really will be a mess..

I know that feeling of getting the lady involved.

A couple of months ago I had the girlfriend help me pull start a cat ten with my pickup truck. After a few hicups and after me nearly rolling the cat ten into my bumper, the tractor started! To this day she thinks I am nuts!

I sure was proud of my wife and the D2.
We got rain last night. Sure was glad the crawler was on firm ground.
Spent about 1 hour finishing up what was too dark to do last night.
My wife knows I am nuts:D .

Have you tried dragging a good load to see if the SC would break loose? Some guys say it works sometimes.
