Two years ago I made reproduction track tension bolts for the caterpillar ten with great success. I have some ideas for some more reproduction parts and I wanted to get some feedback before I went forward with having this parts made.

They are as follows:

Lower Radiator pipe for the cat ten, and cat fifteen/small twenty. Normally, this part is rusted or cut and patched with rad hose. Anyone interested?

The waterpump pump cover on a cat ten. This cover gaurd covers the packing nut on the water pump. It appears to be made out of "spring" steel and snaps onto the waterpump casting to conceal the packing nut and shaft. Look in your parts book...It is there and very few tractors have it...even the most complete ones. Any interest? Those of you familiar with this part, how difficult would this be to reproduce?

Bend some 1/2''emt electrical conduit and reweld to the flanges to fix the Ten lower pipe. Covers wouldn't be too much problem but no time with regular business to make any!

Hey Guys; Better watch what you are making for resale. Big daddy CAT is watching our moves out here. Chapter One made some reprints of some 60+ year old 16mm movies and they won't let us sell them.
We don't see any difference between copying old movies than copying parts, seats, hoods, side shields, rock guards and service manuals.
What is your opinion guys??

Yep they stopped some guy from making models awhile back also but im not sure what they allow and dont. When ACMOC got sucked into deal with Cat Corp. and moved to Peoria we were supose to get rights to reprduce pre 1960 models and parts but as everthing deal we have had with the they have shit on us like the norscott deal and telling us we canot use the Tracklayer logo that they dont even own ,so I'd say makem till they tell you to stop. Present day Cat Corp is a bunch of sleave balls lookin for profet and reniging on thier deals dont trust them because guy that says you can today will be gone tomorrow, thats why I am apossed to anybody who was or is involved with CAT CORP to be on the BoD of ACMOC and hope to have in bylaws by vote of membership next yr.

Replied by John from Fresno on topic Difference
The difference that I see is that you did not "make" the movie. Someone will make the pipes or seats. I can have anyone make things for me. I think the problem lies in the use of the CAT name or logo. I am sure the movie has the CAT name or logo used in the making of the film. Now, I could make my own movie using my equipment and I should be fine. Just as you folks could make your own movie using your restored CATs and the club can sell them. Just as my military vehicle club sells calendars that have Dodges, GMC's, Ford and Willys jeeps.

Just my thoughts.

John

I never thought of caterpillar having a problem with having repro parts made. Several guys make the sheet metal, and george logue has been making manifolds for years. I would never make anything that cat sells as if they did sell the parts, it would probably be easier to just buy them. Based on the machines I have, and the requests of fellow collectors, It seems the lower rad pipes are very hard to find.
