Good Morning;
I'm doing my first oil filter change on D25U4467 ("Irma" as in Irma La Duce) and I went to my Wix dealer and they gave me their no. 51161 as a replacement part. When I removed the original I see that it has a rather intricate outer filter that is washable and a throw away inner filter. The Wix 51161 replaces both of them. Does anyone feel that this is an unacceptable move? Thanks.

It appears your tractor still has the old original by-pass setup in it yet & no you don,t just put the one filter in it as there is some parts that has to be changed over to be able to use the full flow element. I don,t just have a listing of the parts needed but Old Magnet should have a listing of them. At the shop I changed dozens of them over and at that time Cat had a kit to do it but I believe only separate parts is only available anymore from Cat unless you,d be lucky that a dealer would still have a kit.

The full flow conversion filter is a Wix # 51161.
The standard replacement for the early by-pass filter is a Wix # 51165.
To convert takes the attached parts.

Search back a few pages in this forum. We discussed all this not all that long ago. There was some good info but I didn't ear tag it because all my filters are the full flow already, except the wrecking yard engine I'm working on now and I got a complete filter housing assembly from the yard to change it over. that's something you might consider if there's a Cat wrecker near by.
