Hello I am new to your site and would like to find the correct paint code for a 1934 Cat 22. The newer paint color used on new equip. is much duller. A kick in the right direction would be appreciated. JT

Hi JT,

You can find the paint information by going to www.acmoc.org , then click on the archive link and scroll all the way to the bottom of the page. The 1934 Twenty Two paint is the hi-way yellow.

I am just starting to work on a Twenty two. I have a long way to go before I am ready for paint.

Regards,
Lee

2 years ago you still could get the right paint color at the cat dealer. I am sure someone here has the part number, it is the old, old cat yellow! Good luck

I did find the info on that page that was listed. But when I went to Cat they told me that the Highway yellow was the NEW color. And they said that they did not have the old color or the OLD leaded paint that is not legal in CA. I guess that my best option is to take one of the parts to the paint store and have it matched. JT

Rust-Oleum has a Old Cat Yellow paint in spray cans. I do not have the number but it is labled "Old Cat Yellow" or "Old Caterpillar Yellow".

Cat "Hiway" yellow in a 12 oz. spray can is Cat part number 206-6417. I have been able to get it at the Cat dealer. The same paint in a one gallon container is part number 4C-4185.

This paint matches the yellow on my 1933 Cat 20 and the paint on the ACMOC models. If you get the uninformed parts help they will tell you that new yellow is hiway yellow. It's not. The Rust Oleum also matches as Oldnuc stated. Hope this helps.

Here in the midwest I have bought the Rust-oleum Caterpillar yellow at Menards. From what I can tell it's a good match. It's a specialty/farm equipment color. Tailseat 22

I have been able to buy the correct paint using the codes at Tresco paint in Hayward. If you need the number I will look it up for you. I have bought yellow and gray there. - Wally
