hey fred,
I purchased a 955h 2 years ago that dropped a valve. I pulled head and belly pan and oil pan in the field to put a piston , liner and rod in the #3 hole. it was a pain in the butt, I had about 8 hrs in it including putting new valve in .
After I got it running so I could load it and get it home . I could hear it rattle inside. I pulled eng and found crank was broken . replaced it with used one and rebuilt eng . I did this after work in the evenings and I maybe had 60 hrs in it . I also replaced brake linnings on turn brakes and all filters and that took almost as long as doing eng repairs. when I changed linnings I found old linning material in the bypass valve and filter for the power assist turn clutch pistons , also the pistons had it in them . I washed all parts out and now they work a lot better.
