I have been looking for info on lights for my 1926 cat 5 ton , it has the original generator and battery box on it .The holt parts books don't have pictures like the cat books just part numbers . I have found 2 sets of lights that look like some of the guide/ holt lights . enjoy the pics and thanks for any info !

I would go with the clamp on lights with the knob on back those are early tractor lights. The black can style lights can be tractor lights also but the last set are car lights just to fancy just my opinion JM

I to was thinking the smaller lights are correct for this tractor . Has anyone heard of vesta lights made in Chicago , both of the 6" lights have this brand on them . The only picture of a late 5 ton with lights that I have is on the newer acmoc chapter banners in the background , I wonder if any one from acmoc has this pic to blow up . So the top five pics in my first post are of the same pair of vista 6" lights and the bottom five are of the same pair of 10" guide lights . one more pic of the knob on the back of the 6" lights . thanks for any replys or opinions on this , I just want to pick the correct set as it will be a lot of work to get ether set restored .

None of the lights pictured are the type that Cat put on their tractors. I will take pictures of the proper lights tomorrow and post them. - Wally

Here are pictures of the 2 types of lights that are being discussed. Both have " Guide tractor lens " written on the lenses. The knob on the back of the 7 inch lights has "Guide" written across it and "Made in USA". The 8 inch lights have connectors on opposite sides of the mounting bolt so the wires come out on opposite sides of the radiator. There are similar lights with the wire coming out the back. The hood doors would not open on the gas cats with those style lights. Although you will find many different style of lights on Cats these are the ones Cat put on.

Bob Lavoi put together a photo archive of the caterpillar 10. (book)
I remember pictures of at least one new TEN on the show room floor with a cab and
a set of vista lights

Hi Team,
from my old Cat Parts and Accessories Book are the following offerings--these from a March 1946 insert.
These are all that is in the Book and I offer them as a reference only as to what was one time available--not necessarily as suitable or not for any particular machine.
Save now whilst they are up--running out of space on the BB.
I note what Wally said about the rear entry wiring interfering with the hood opening ability on the Holt.
Cheers,
Eddie B.

fantastic , you got some good stuff there ! I figured the do-ray/ vista lights were not a cat light . Ill do some more research on that style light to try to figure the vintage machine thay go on . I have had good luck finding the 7in guide with the knob on the back , I figured it would be impossible but I have 2 of them and needing a mount and lens for one of them .The yellow one has o.d.green under the yellow and needs the parts . thanks for your help edb . Ill try and get some pics of the other 3 styles of guide lights I have and post on this thred , Its starting to build some grate info that is impossible to find .
