Saturday my brother and I bought another Caterpillar- an 8C Twenty which will be used as a parts machine for my other Small twenty. With very limited production, the 8C specific parts for this machine are very hard to find. Fortunatly this machine had a great set of Manifolds, an intact and Complete Radiator, Air filter assembly, Throttle Linkages, and the cast iron dashboard. Out of the three small twenty's i have, I should be able to make a really nice looking machine. Anyone out there have a gas tank for the small twenty? I have three but two are rusted out, and the third is dent pretty bad. Let me know what you.
I have attached some pics of the machine. The first pic shows the most god awlfull contraption I have ever seen on one of this little cats. Some sort of ancient bucket or blade setup constructed out of 1/2 inch and 1/4 inch steel! It weighted so much I couldn't lift the machine with my wheel loader which should easly handle a small twenty!
Overall, the undercarriage is trashed from spending it's life in southern New jersey. Tracks are tight, and worn as are the sprockets and idlers. Engine has repairs to the block and to the oil pan. It does have a belt pulley which is nice.
