Caterpillar bought out Russel Grader Manf. in 1928 and the first No.12 grader was built in 1938

I may be way off but working around Cats it seemed their own blades started appearing after the D4 6U & 7U tractors came out in 1947 and possibly the D2s in that era. Before that in earlier dozers it seemed the LaPlante Choate blades were on them but again I have no idea what years they may have switched to their own dozer blades.

My D2 5U had a blade and used cylinders to raise the blade by pushing on a extension of it that extended past the rear mounting point.

The blade had a piece of steel welded to the top front of the blade with the name HOLT.

Ill look through the computer and post what ever pics I can find asap.
