Norton Antivirus is about the best consumer product on the market, and has been ever since they absorbed a group Intel started several years ago to produce their own product. Now I'm talking about just the plain-Jane antivirus, none of this "system protection suite" and "Internet security" stuff they bundle all together.

For those that don't know, I work as a systems admin for a top-ten financial organization with my area covering four counties with about 35 locations across central FL. We used to have the Norton enterprise product here and life was good, until someone greased some palms up at corporate and got us McAfee. I don't even want to think how many times we've been infected since! And the funny thing is, when we have to clean the virus from all the thousands of computers in our footprint we always use Norton removal utilites 'cause the McAfee stuff won't work.

But no matter what you use, it's all worthless if you don't keep it updated along with your operating system.

Joe, problems over here as well, okay last night now unable to enter bulletin board and keep getting Antiquecaterpillar.net. What do you mean by verify your virus patterns, I subscribe to Norton Internet Security and have had no problems in the past. Cheers Al

Don't know if it was screwy this morning. I did not log on. But everything was working fine from New Hampshire at about 5 pm eastern time.

i wasn't able to bring up the acme bb till after 4pm today, so about 8 hours with the bogus search result page coming up instead. it seems good to go now. s happens. tanks.

Good to know Catman if 12-14-05 ever comes back!!
