fired the old girl up today an things did not go so well. Got the top off an found an injector pushed up out of the hole. An body have any instruction on how to replace this. I am assuming that the piece still in the head will have to come out also. I have look at the cat parts page and not sure what all I will have to order either. Any guidance would be great.
Hoping that this is also why it seem to run on three cylinders before it warmed up tell this happened. I have cleared maybe 8 acres of woods with the old gal so far but have 30 left to go if she will make it. the under carriage is getting very very ruff shape.
thanks for the help

Pre-combustion chamber has come apart at seam (happens occasionally). About the only way I know of getting the remaining piece out is to weld something to the remainder that will withstand the 200 + ft-lb torque to get it out.

Its broken off just above the thread so there won't be any torque on it and in theory should be loose, but corrosion will be holing it in, try and clean round the area and give it a dose of your favourite penetrating fluid, using a flat end punch, give it a couple of blows with a 2lb hammer, being careful not to get too close to the thread, then carefully try and 'easy out' stud extractor to remove it,. You may have to weld something on it but I'm not sure how to do it in such a small space.

Ok, looking again it does seem broken at the thread neck, not the chamber joint. If an extractor doesn't work, plug the hole and weld a nut (inside nut thread) to the remainder. Half the help comes from the heating and cooling of the weld.

Couple of heat and cool cycles with the gas torch will shrink it and greatly assist with the extraction

So once I can this out I will need to buy a pre combustion chamber, do you think I should replace anything else in this area while I'm in there. Thanks to all for the replys, will be alittle while before I will be able to work on it. spun the engine over by hand to clean water out of cylinder. did spray some wd 40 down in to it.

I'd squirt some engine oil down there and not let it set to long without rolling the engine over.

Had this happen on my bosses 1957 D69U ! We welded a long 9/16" grade 8 bolt to the bottom of the pre-cup ... let it cool ... rapped the head of the bolt with a air hammer and it came out easily ! Coolant flows around the pre-cup so when the cup separates coolant goes down the cylinder ! I sucked as much as I could with an extractor ... then bar the engine over with the flywheel to make sure the other cylinders do not hydraulic lock (if coolant somehow got in) and purge the cylinder with the broken pre-cup of the remaining coolant ! My boss was brave enough to spin the engine over with the pup but it was his Cat and his decision. Just make sure you get as much of the coolant out as possible and as Old Magnet said get some oil in there (NOT TOO MUCH) and bar the engine over again so to spread the oil over the cylinder walls to prevent rusting ! Then get a new pre-cup,washer and O-rings and install according to spec ! Once everything is done change the engine oil and filters ! Glen
