That's the stuff.
Several different types available, (copper, nickel, zinc???). There's probably things that each one is made special for, but all of them seem to work fine on steel bolts. The copper type looks suspiciously like the copper based connection grease I bought for electrical use.
I love the stuff!
D2-5J's, D6-9U's, D318 and D333 power units, 12E-99E grader, 922B & 944A wheel loaders, D330C generator set, DW20 water tanker and a bunch of Jersey cows to take care of in my spare time:D

I don,t know if that is a brand name or not but the compound also is called Anti-Seize too.The one that Cat sells over the counter is a copper color & works very well. The real good one that Cat sells is 4C5599 for an 8 oz. can but they sell another type but this one is the HD high temp. The std. one is 4C5592 for the 8 oz. size & works where heat isn,t a problem. They both come in a larger size too & a smaller one.

Years ago, like maybe 35 or so, I got a blue squeeze bottle of genuine NEVER SIEZE. It was one of the first of a long list of such products and it was very good. I've never seen it since.
I've bought Permatex, something in a John Deere package and I think something in a Cat package if I remember right. All worked very good.
I think NEVER SIEZE has become the name for all genarics, sort of like SCOTCH TAPE.

Putting Never Seize in a squeeze bottle seems like a good idea, it would definitely be better thatn the container with the brush, that won't reach the bottom, and catches all kinds of crap and puts it back in the can.

The NAPA Permatex Anti-Seize is in a spray can. That is the reason I was questioning whether it was what you all were talkling about. I thought it would have been thicker and in a can with a brush. It also has the trademark "Lubrigard" on the can.

I still prefer the blue RTV silicone for putting things together. Not only does it seal the threads to keep corrosion out but it also acts like gorilla snot and keeps vibration from backing the bolts out. Bolts come out as easy as they went in. .learned this working on boats in salt water. Stainless bolts and aluminum housings just don't mix. .salt water gets in and starts electrolytic corrosion and when ya go to take the bolt out, the head twists off and then ya gotta drill the #@&% bolt out and you know how much fun THAT can be on stainless! Never broke another bolt after I started doing that.

Regular steel bolts & aluminum parts don,t get alomg together either.Seen it happen so many times & I always coated the bolts completely with the anti-seize before reinstalling them. The RTV was just coming around when I retired so we only had the anti-seize & no one experienced using it on bolts etc.yet.

In Australia recently Loctite started producing anti seize in a container like a womans lipstick. No waste and no mess, the anti seize is very thick and goes on like a paste, so no dirt getting in to the anti seize. They even do most thread lockers in the same type of tube. Better than a squeeze tube that gets squashed in the toolbox and leaks puss all over everything.

They'd never allow a product that looks like lipstick to be marketed here in USA. We have far too many law making politicians that a dumb enough to use the stuff for lipstick and we can't stand the bas_____ talking any smoother than they do now!
