This is my link to the picture trail site where my D42T photos are stored. Slow going for sure. Pulling together parts now. I will get things put back together, behind schedule that is for sure.
I thought these might be helpful for someone like me who has not seen under the transmission cover. These pieces and parts is heavy!
Thanks-
bernie

Thanks Bernie for the tour.
How long have you had this for a project?
What do you suppose you'll have into it by the time you're finished?
I couldn't tell, was this a home-made ROPS? and was it welded on?
I'll be watching for more...sl

I bought the machine in May of 2006-went through some minor, (now minor), problems at first-I learned a great deal.
I purchsed the D4 from a trader near South Webster, Ohio-Let's just say I learned a few things. Not real anxious to talk about $$$ right now, maybe at some later date when she is operating well. I believe the ROP was home made. I cut it off so I could store her out of the rain under my lean too with low clearance. It is nice off I must admit. It is a tight fit for me when it is on.
I built about half my barn pad before she was too far gone to operate. The main and the pony seem fine. She started right up this spring aftersitting for 4 months or so.
If anyone is in the South Webster or Madrid areas of Ohio-send me a PM or an email. I will give more info.
Thanks for your intrest. I really enjoy this board as well as ACME. The search engines are terrific and the knowledge is awesome.
thanks for your intrest-

Good job Bernie,
It's good to see someone doing a restoration like that. It can be daunting at first to tear that far into a unit:eek: , but as you're finding out they're actually pretty simple when you get into 'em. The worst part of it is the weight of everything. .NOTHING on Cats are light weight. .that's why they go the course as well as they do.
That's gonna be one good looking kitty when ya get done.

Thanks O'lGrump-Thanks also for the filler stems you sent. Just as promised for anyone who is listening.
Weight is right-Since these last photos I removed the flywheel clutch too in order to replace the pilot bearing. The lower nut on the yoke would make a contortionist cry...anyway, that "little" deal was about double what I thought it would weigh...it came out though!
Thanks again-and thanks for the awesome response with the parts requests and delivery.
