I bought a Cat 930 Loader - 41k series, and while I am waiting for the operator's manual to arrive, I am curious if anyone can tell what the device is on one loader arm that looks like a brake master cylinder. I unscrewed the lid and it looks like it has brake fluid in it.

Bucket positioner/ lift kickout I think. Been a long time. Look for a pair of slave cyl's on tank to kick levers into hold.

dD4doug, bob has nailed it , that's the bucket tilt kickout that you're looking at, if it's still working...(which most don't on a machine of that vintage) it kicks the bucket crowd lever out if the tilt back detent when it reaches the digging angle that has been preset by you (they are adjustable). It should be full of hydraulic oil not brake fluid.
Good luck with your 930, they were/are a very reliable loader.

Doug I think that one takes brake fluid. Look for another on the lift too.
