Hi B4D2,
I'm well aware of the lazy and "other" factors. I sometimes see the same post question come up on the same page a few posts apart. So what are you suggesting........no archives or having to go to another BB to research? Bottom line is there shouldn't be a redundant BB, but that's a long story that started a long time ago. Chances of me addressing the BoD out on the West Coast is pretty unlikely as often as meetings occur here. It's a shame to see what could be a great site just stumble along in retarded mode. Maybe nobody really gives a rip anyway:rolleyes:

I am sorry but I believe there should be ultimate redundancy. When someone goes to the trouble to produce beautiful scans of rare information pertaining to Antique Caterpillars, it should stay on the board forever. It should be easily searchable. If there were to be an archives in another location it should reside there too. Some of this material is one of a kind and very rare. The people who are posting it should be commended, they are the ones who are doing all the work.
If storage space were an issue, then someone should go through and delete some of the BS after a period of time. That is one of the good points of this board, there is very little BS. Even dumb questions get good answers which may be of some value to someone.
I am sure there are club members who would volunteer to mark scans and articles for archiving. Personally I don't think anything should be deleted. This is an oportunity to create an informational database for postarity if it is indeed searchable.

OM, glad to see you got to talk to somebody. I hope it works out. You just need to whisper in the correct ear.
