While doing historical research in old newspapers in Pagosa Springs, Colorado, I ran across this little gem in The Pagosa Springs Sun, Friday, January 31, 1941, at page 1, column 4:

"CATERPILLAR TRACTOR SHOW AT MONTE VISTA FEBRUARY 18TH

"The year's sectional Caterpillar show for this territory will be held February 18 in the State Armory in Monte Vista. Bill Deveney, District Representative for Clinton & Held Co., Denver, says new 1941 Caterpillar Diesels will be on display and will be demonstrated. New motion pictures illustrating the uses of Diesel power will be shown. Factory experts will speak on Diesel operation. The show starts at 9:00 a.m. and closes at 4:30 p.m. Lunch will be served at noon."

On page 3 of the same newspaper is a display ad for the show, and shows a drawing of a J-model D2 without any attachments. When I can take a snapshot of the page, I'll post the illustration.

Wish I could have been at the show, don't you?

GWH,
Not really. That would make me a lot older than the 67 I'm now. catskinner

George, I have some pictures some place here of back in the 50's whenthe local Cat dealer had field days at a farm up the road from me. The two brothers( now deceased) used to run a lot of Cat equipment on their farms. The son of one of the brothers still has most of the equipment they used. I will see If I can find my pictures also. It shows them plowing with a D-6. That tractor now sets on their sawmill.
