I think GWH miss stated what he was lookin for. What he really means is a group to put the show on, the site is easy fairgrounds and such places all over the world. Its the hard working group of people to plan it and put it together and then pull it off. Site,Lodging,Volinteers,Food,Advertising,Sanitary facl. and the list goes on ACMOC Bod only shows up has a booth with stuff forsale and have a general meeting lots of visiting and telling you what a great bunch of guys your are for hosting them thats it. And if you going to do it you better get started because 2 yrs will go by so fast and some things take that much advanced notice to use. Ours has been in planing for 2 yrs already and 1 to go and still lots to do. It anit easy

Willie is correct. What we look for is an established show that wants to host us. For example, the show at Kinzer, PA, called "Rough and Tumble", invited us to be their featured tractor a couple of years ago. And last year, the ACMM at Brooks invited us to Brooks for our 15th anniversary. Location is important, but we have to have an established show to be associated with.

Next year, Willie's committee is putting on the show at Woodland. The Heidrick museum is sponsoring the show. That show has the potential of being the best antique Caterpillar show ever, including Tulare of several years ago. I'm really looking forward to that show, and urge anyone with the time and financial resources to attend the show.

Chapter 9 is supposed to be doing a display at the Arapahoe County Fair this weekend. Could be a start I guess.

Have not been on the site for a while, so am a little late responding to this request.

Have already asked the club to consider Portland Indiana (Tri-State Show), the weekend before Labor Day. This is one of the largest tractor and engine shows in the country, and is located in the Mid-West. 40 Miles south of Fort Wayne Indiana. 80 mile North-East of Indianapolis. Average show is 1800 engines, 800 tractors, and a lot more.

A lot of CAT collectors near the show. The Family would bring 15 or 20 (Holt 10 Ton, Best 60's, Cat 60's, Cat 50, Cat 40, Diesel 40's RD7, 30's, 15's, 10's, 2 ton's, Cletrac's, AC's, Cat Combine, etc.

The show could have 20-40 acres open for operating by that time, and has about 1000 sites for free camping (a lot with Elect) for participants.

DO not see why Acmoc does not want to look into this option??????

I think that the Portland show is a natural for ACMOC to make the 2010 national show. I think that Dan Voght and his family offering to bring 20 +/- tractors to get the ball rolling is a great start. I have always wanted an excuse to travel from California to the Portland show and this may be the reason I have been looking for.

George, run with this one!
