Well after 4 years it runs. Cat 22 1J1781WSP
We had it going for about 20 mins. yesterday. Good oil pressure, no leaks. All clutches work and brakes work well.
I need to tweek the timing and adj the carb now that it is rebuilt.
Now the questions.
How much oil for the crankcase? 30 Wt?
How much water for the radiator? I want to add an anti-freeze mix.
Pics are attached.

My information shows the engine oil capacity is 10 qt‘s. and the Cooling system capacity is 5 gal. And yes, I would say 30W. SN 1J1 through 1J5155.
Looks like your doing a good job….sure takes along time sometimes.

After changing oil, the pressure has gone down to the edge of the white (low) area. It was mid scale. I drained the new oil and pulled the bottom plate. It was full of sediment. I also found some holes in the mesh on the bell assy. (p/n 2B3290)
Question: Has anyone put a new mesh on the bell? It appears to be copper. How is it attached? Anything else I should do, while I'm in there?
Any help would be appreciated.

Perry If Im not mistakin the pump should have a dial to increase/decrease pressure if running low maybe turn half turn to increase pressure. Just a thought and I dont think that a 22 would carry more than 30-40lbs. at max

First, Thanks to all that replied. Kelly, Steve A and Jason 10/D4.
I replaced the pickup assy. screen. McMaster Carr had the screen. I used 20 x 20 copper screen. I then used JB Weld to attach it to the casting. I now have oil pressure about 5/16 of an inch into the white (normal area) of the gage. I think I will will get another gage and see what the pressure is in lbs.
The pics are of the old screen/bell assy. , with holes!
The old screen removed and with the new screen JB Welded to the bell assy.
Steve : I have screen left over, If you would like some. Should be enough to do two more of that size. Give me a call if your interested.
