Does anyone know if Cat stocks valves and top end kits for the D4 motor?
Thanks much,
Brian

Don't know about "kits" but I'm pretty sure they have all the individual pieces. Give them a call with your part numbers.

Last engine I enquired about was a D333, but even with that one, most of the engine gasket sets listed in the parts book were no longer available, EXCEPT the valve grinding gasket set. I bought a D311 head gasket set a couple of years ago.
Like OM says they usually have the gaskets etc, but only as individual part numbers. The Federal Mogul/FP Diesel aftermarket engine parts supplier had other engine gasket sets for overhaul.
D2-5J's, D6-9U's, D318 and D333 power units, 12E-99E grader, 922B & 944A wheel loaders, D330C generator set, DW20 water tanker and a bunch of Jersey cows to take care of in my spare time:D

All of what you need for you 7U should be available through you local Cat Dealer. You will have to buy all of the parts individualy though. I had most of the prices on a note around here some where but I can not find it now. The head gasket was about $45.00 intake and ex valves were between $30 and $35 each and valve guides were about $18.00 each. If you would like to go with after market parts Dana at Florin Tractor has found most of these parts for me before for about half the price of the Cat parts. I think that there web site is
www.florintractor.com
.
Thanks
Ken
