Hi Team,
maybe we should start a new thread for the above Data.
Here is what I have on A.P. Dates from an early version of what I guess became the Performance Handbook, "Earthmoving Guide To Profit" fourth edition. Although this is a Sales Tool it is still something to go by and, if we can get enough things agreeing on dates that will have to suffice.
Sales Reciepts like highcrop10 has refered to could also assist, but I do know that the Boss's 30 was a 1926 model sold in 1928,so there is plenty of room for error here too.
Man, I'm remembering all the backside kicks I got for scrounging the bins for this old stuff, especially when I was an Apprentice. In later days some people wisened up that I was a sponge for this stuff and it used to sometimes appear on my Tool Trolley.
The grader specs 1&2 sheets go side by side to continue the line numbers across the page (A3 sheet) but partly lost right numbers.
Cheers,
Eddie B.

Thanks Eddy.

Hey Swishy,
Got your ears on and been following this:) :)
Would like to tap your talents to get a revised listing of Cat motor graders.
I'm thinking more orientated to identification of models and engines, SD, DD, basic weights, production years and .....but light on the gear speeds, features an options.....whatever can be produced on a single sheet reference.

Would you be available to organize such (much like that previous sheet). Like we did before we would feed you the info. Probably do one model at a time, so might take awhile.

Have you still got some of "Northart's" stuff or is it long gone. I know I have some of it.

Hi swishy,
great stuff and a good start, now to round up the loose ends.
At this point in time I am out of attachment space, I would have liked to repost the Motor Grader Engines scan to help sort out the major confusion on the grader Serial Numbers.
Because the graders were available with both Gas and Diesel engines when people look at the Engine (Power Unit) S/No they tend to cite it as the grader S/No. The "Power Unit" plate is marked "Power Unit".
In fact the Grader S/No plate, by the parts book, is shown to be towards the front of the right hand main frame member.
Further confusion occurs when a unit has had an engine transplant from another application.
Sorry I can't help further just now as some important Undercarriage posts need to stay up for a while yet to enable others to catch up with them for their own edification and usage.
Cheers,
Eddie B.

One problem with that data page is with the 212 graders. The 9T series was not a single drive machine and weight is ~13600 pounds.

D2-5J's, D6-9U's, D318 and D333 power units, 12E-99E grader, 922B & 944A wheel loaders, D330C generator set, DW20 water tanker and a bunch of Jersey cows to take care of in my spare time:D

I put my reply on the other post so will repeat again here;)

Hi Swishy & edb,
That's a delayed action for sure:D :D
Yes, there are some boo boo's in the grader list.
For now let's just sit on the info.....that's a winter project for me anyway:)
Also looks like there may be a breakthrough on setting up archives:) :)
Lee, George, Joe and myself are scheduled for a conference call Tues. the 28th to see what's required and what can be done. Standby........definitely could use some of your services. When it gets there will be looking for ideas on how to lay stuff out and present it along with categories for the topics we discussed some time ago.

PS My wireless connection service is having some problems so my posts might be a little spotty:(
