Series 8D1-266, 1933 - 1937
The Gas SEVENTY is one of the last big Gas (Gasoline) tractors Caterpillar made.
Production began in 1933 and continued until 1937 with only 266 tractors being built.
The engine was crowbar start and basically the same as the SIXTY FIVE engine.
Only one width was available, 78 inch gauge, this being the width between the track centres.
The tractor below was restored and is being driven by UK Caterpillar enthusiast Robert Wilson who recently passed away (Feb 2022), his memory will live on with this machine landing page.
