We are on the home stretch of the 1939 D4 rebuild.Even with the parts machines we only have 1 usable D4 tag. These are the larger tags from the 4G and early 7J machines. They are located on each side lower radiator. My one good tag is pictured for reference. Also pictured is the smaller tag found on 5T and 6U and 7U machines.
Part #4B6629
Looking to buy if you have one to spare.

Just make sure it is the right size, I bought two of them from General Gear about 10 years ago for my D4 7J and haven't got around to fitting them yet, but saw them in my parts box 2 days ago in their plastic bags sitting next to the old beat up originals that were on the tractor, and noticed for the first time that my nice new shiny ones are smaller than the originals, all these years I had never had them side by side!

It appears they have one but will charge for the labor to disassemble the radiator to remove it plus the price of the tag. Looks like I'm back to the old drawing board.

Make a top die reverse of the lettering and press the metal into a piece of urethane . Not all that difficult to do yourself.

I think I got it ironed out. General gear does have the newer slightly smaller Style in brass and stainless steel. They also have sets from D2 to D8. I don't think they will be very noticeable as far as the size difference so I ordered a set of brass ones that will complement the other brass tags on the machine. Thanks for all the help everyone and I will definitely keep the tip in mind for making a tag myself in the future. 👍
