Looking for pistons, liners, and rings for a Diesel Thirty Five. Liner number is 2a448, Piston numbers are: 6b4012, 6b4009, 2b4261,2b3121 and 2b1056. The correct for the serial number is the 6b4009 number, but this might be a take what I can get situation. I tried Florin, but Dana doesn’t show them in stock. 1 cylinder and piston is probably salvageable the other 2 are toast. Would later parts fit. I think Cat had a few 8” stroke motors of varying bores. Thanks, Paul

Hastings should have the rings, the liners I had made for my Diesel Seventy-five. Some have bored blocks for the 5 3/4" sleeves if you go that route if your not keeping it original.

Thank you, are the 5 3/4” pistons and liners any easier to find?

Yes they are. Or you could put an RD-6 engine in it.

That’s an interesting thought, I know where there is one sitting. Switching to the rd6 parts would require opening up the counter bore for the larger liners for sure, are the wrist pins close in size, what other road blocks might I run into? I really appreciate the help. This is the firs caterpillar I’ve had I couldn’t find parts for. Like a dummy I just sold the brother to this tractor, but it was so complete that I didn’t want to part it, and I only have so much time that I sold it to a local collector.

Cranks and journal size may be different depending on serial number. Not sure on the wrist pins, probably different.
