I looked at this today. CAT 30 serial # S6445. Unique use of a Ford TT truck differential to run the winch drum. How about the V6 GMC
engine/transmission transplant.
Widow has been offered nine cents a pound for scrap, and they will pick it up.

LOOK AT IT!
Its got a Walmart "EverStart" battery and a can of Ether still on it.
Probably would start right up as it ran when parked! 😆
Seems as though someone is always asking for Idler bearings and undercarriage parts.
Plus those gears in the Trans/Final that get asked for once in a while!
It seems a shame to take a person's ingenuity and at least not document it closer if it indeed does go to the Scrap Yard.

I second what Jeff says - at least save the Thirty parts - they don't make them anymore...
Cheers,
Neil

The widow said her husband was rebuilding the carb when he became to ill to finish it. As drujinin says, had a new battery, ether ready, and the fuel line is still in the plastic gas can alongside.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
