Hello everyone, hope you are well.

I currently own a CAT 212 Motor Grader and I am looking for a new "steering worm" (part number: 1F2591 – WORM / 7F1564 – WORM)
or a complete steering box assembly.

I have also found that the CAT 112 and CAT 12, (up to CAT 12E), use a similar, non-hydraulic, fully mechanical, steering box and I could use that if the 212 steering box is not available.

Please kindly let me know if you have any idea where I could find either of these parts: the 212 steering worm, or 112 or 212 full steering box assembly or the CAT 12 (up to CAT 12E) steering box. NEW or USED !!

Thank you so much for your help !!
PG

Hello,
Thanks for getting back !
Sorry, completely forgot to mention where I am based.
I'm just a short flight across the pond: in MILAN, ITALY...

@Clayton

Unfortunately there aren't many of these 212 graders in Europe so I'm struggling to find anything. I'd be willing to spend the money on shipping despite its cost because I don't have any other solutions at the moment.

If you could kindly send me some pictures of the parts you have, it would be extremely appreciated.

Hello everybody,

Just wanted to UPDATE the situation with GREAT news regarding my problem with steering box of 212 CAT Grader

In case anyone comes across similar problems with mechanical steering boxes:

CHS RICARDO CAVALLERO (in Argentina) is maybe one of the only companies left still making antique steering systems !
FOR VERY REASONABLE PRICES TOO !!!!

https://www.chsauto.com/

I really recommend this company, a 2 year problem solved in less than 1 month and now my grader is back to action.
Could not be happier with his service, customer care and ultimately the quality of the components received within little time all the way to Italy. The whole kit with roller, bottomless screw, seals, etc. everything was included !
It was really easy to comunicate through whatsapp and find a solution to the problem too.

I also really appreciate everybody that sent me PMs, recommendations or any input to help me solve the problem.

THANK YOU ACMOC !

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
