All,

Word from the ACMOC office this morning is that things are very hectic right now with the migration of the store, BB, data base, accounting etc. into the new software package which will "Go Live" September 1st. Accordingly, please do not expect the normal responses that Mary Clark, our administrator normally gives when called upon. Her plate is pretty full at this time.

Also please know that for a time period (# of hours TBD) on August 31, the website will go off line for the change over. Our developers believe it will be a minimum time but probably several hours at least. When I learn more, I will report here. The inconvenience will be as short as possible but the end result should prover very positive.

As I learn of other issues, I will post them here so stay tuned.

Jan Meermans, ACMOC Director

Most every one of the websites I have been on have had several days of confusion and "blackouts" when revamping but in the end it was all worth it. The Tower Hobby site just updated today and it took me 5 tries to reset my password. Something new always takes a while to get familiar with. When I put new seat cushions on the D4 it took two years to get used to them!! :eyebrows::biggrin1:

Our developers will take the website down at 12:01AM on August 31. The amount of time off line will depend on how things go. Basically, do not count on using the website for the following 24 hours. Some BB activity can take place but no guarantees that anything written will migrate to the new site.

See you all on the other side.

I am told that everything currently present will be migrated to the new site. I have my fingers crossed!

Hopefully Cinderella is about to appear and the old BB will be a passing memory. May the old BB rest in peace and may the new one have successes beyond our wildest dreams!! :car::first:

I didn't read closely and thought the change over was tonight, not last night. From where I sit it looks great.
Thanks to all that worked hard on the the project.

FYI, the migration is actually taking place right now. The bulletin board was intentionally left active until the last minute. Some final posts may not migrate if they get caught midstream, so hold off on important posts until later this week.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
