Have a D7E 48A 6092. I am considering installing a 24v starter. Question: Will a 40 or 42M work or do I need a 50M ? 11T or 12 T ? Did Cat ever make a retrofit kit to plug the oil lines and water manifolds or do we just fabricate blanks?

I'd recommend the 50MT starter, which was also used on the later models. The 12T pinion matches original pony pinion.
I only know of individual block off plates, don't think they ever offered a kit. Most folks make their own.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
