The D7C 17A1 up went in production in 1955 & was built up to 17A11980 & then in 1959 the D7D 17A 11981 went in production so just guessing your in between so maybe 1957 yours could be. Some guys on here have the years each machine was made but my book only lists starting production of each S.N. tractor & other equipment.

Hello Manzcat,

I note you are inquiring, re the build year of your "D7" 17A Series tractor Serial No 17A 5281. I have checked it out from my CAT Serial No manual and it shows as being built approx mid way through the 1956 production year.

The 1956 production year commenced with Serial No 17A 2890 and ended with Serial No 17A 6391 - a total built that year was 3,501 tractors.

Hope that this is of help to your query.
