Will a 7U Pto unit fit on a 78A?

They look the same but wonder if tail shaft is the same?

My understanding is that all the D4 PTO's will interchange but I have not tried them all. Even though shaft part numbers are different between the 7U units and later 78A units it has to do with shaft changes within the gear box itself, otherwise length dimensions are the same and both use the same splined couplings. I do stand to be corrected, maybe you can verify.

JR: I have a couple of spare PTOs if you happen to burn yours up and need replacement.
