Where and what is everyone else doing this weekend?
The weather has been absolutely fantastic, and TOO nice to be cooped up inside.
Myself and the local hoarders are going to be at Courtland,CA for the PEAR FAIR.
Others (I'm sort of envious) are at Antique Powerland, Brooks, Oregon for the BIG "Steam up".
Plenty of summer events going on all over the planet, so how about some "Show and Tell?" I will post some photos later; In the meantime, everyone please have a wonderful day! JM
Out on the golf course. Hot as heck. And I have my welder coming round today to discuss putting my track frames back together so I can install the shiny new D3 tracks : )
Having my latest hoarding acquisition delivered today. A 1939 9G series D7 with dozer. Was used in farming operation until 2 years ago. Was always stored indoors when not in use. I think will not take much to get it running.
Spent the last four hours working on a windmill and water system. Temperature is 101° with a Heat Index of 107° but thankfully there is a 15 mile an hour wind.
Didn’t have any choice as the cattle needed water. Oh well, it could be 112° with no wind.
Cats Forever
On the other side of the globe, well into winter, feeding and moving cattle is the daily task. Procrastinating over projects while it's a little unpleasant outside. While Juiceman attends his PEAR FAIR, I've planted a couple of pear trees in my efforts to establish some trees around my somewhat bare looking property. Beurre Bosc and Williams Bon Chretien being my pears of choice.
Brian18A... That Caterpiggle originally came from the Southam Ranch in Butte City, CA. My favorite wrench person used to work on it; It was part of a BidCal internet auction. JM
Pear fair came up on my feed https://youtu.be/nPA8i9uO13A?si=-gXcjvezrHgtyJKC
Been up in the mountains the past week few thunderstorms in the afternoons but back to more normal weather for a change up there.
And the original 1939 delivery paperwork from I G Zumwalt in Colusa
Brian: That is neat. I enjoy the paperwork that comes with old machines. Better yet, I am amazed the Gill clan had that with the machine.
I have to keep my eye out, as you have mastered the art of accumulating old iron, especially in my area! Lol all good. Thx, JM.
JM do you know when the auction occurred?
Brian: BidCal past sale; 9-6-24 to 9-10-24.
The buyer couldn’t load it because the tracks were stuck I think; I don’t know if they ended up hiring a carrier that knew what to do or? I want to think they moved it to Live Oak, or Davis.
