where can I find info on serial numbers for CCU units

I am trying to figure out the year for my CCU. it isn't original to the tractor. It is a caterpillar and the Serial number is 9D2197. Thanks in advance for any ideas.

I'm not aware of any info that list s/n by year on the CCU's.
The 9Dxxxx series CCU starts with 9D501 and goes beyond 9D51,934 so about all you can say is yours is an early version.

Thank you for that clarification. I for one was not aware that Cat did not do a 'by year' breakdown of serial #s for the CCUs. Sorta stands to reason though 'coz they would have made 'squillions' of 'em.
