Hello everyone,
It appears the gasket for the rear accessory mount area is the same on a Twenty Two and D2. Has anyone tried swapping rear mount accessories between the two models? (BeGe Hydraulic pump, belt pulleys, etc)
Thanks much,

No knowledge of the specific issue. But would guess if the bolt pattern looks the same it is. But would be very surprised if the drive shaft would be the right length for both.
As the different manufactures would not use a common size track chains. I have found the bolt patterns are generally the same on similar sized machines on the rear to mount hydraulics or winches. But as in the case of Cat 7u D4 with a seat fuel tank, it needs to put a Be-Ge pump much farther back than say a AC or IH machine of similar size and vintage. Even though the bolt pattern is the same.
And another bit of mystery is which way the PTO drive shaft will run. I have seen several people wondering why a Be-Ge off a D4 will not work when mounted to a D6. The PTO is running the other direction, pump and valve need to be flipped. Now that I think about this, I have no idea if AC HD5, IH TD 9, and Cat D4 all run the PTO in the same direction or not.
Breadler, the casing will bolt up however the PTO shaft is not in the same place which means that you would have to fabricate some kind of internal transfer case or drive to re-align the driveline for items that can't do both. I know Cat accessories like the PTO and belt pulley will not interchange, and the Hyster D2 winch won't fit a Twenty Two either due to its fixed driveshaft location. Can't say about accessories from vendors like LaPlante Choate, Be-Ge, etc.
Hi Neil, would you know if the D2 fenders, tank seat fit a 22, or if the shape is similar enough to fit for garden ornament?
That I don't know, I'd need to take some measurements, but anything can be adapted, I can't imagine that it's too far different given the track gauges. The Twenty Two fenders are pressed steel on brackets, similar to the J series D2. The seat tank worked with both fender styles on the D2 so there's a chance it will with the Twenty Two.
Thanks Neil, yes they are from a 3J around the 1930-5 series, same as my 1920 pressed with braces under side, I have have fella after them to make his pretty bare 22 look like a machine in his front yard
