I picked up a twenty-five at an aution a few weeks ago and was wondering if someone can tell me more about the pieces bolted to the pads. I have not seen them before and was wondering what they were used for. Thanks guys.

They could be ice grouser attachments. I have seen other styles that Cat sold but were a little different than these so these could either be after market or home made, can,t tell too well from the picture, just my guess.

Matt, Nice find, the bolt on attachments origionally held a bonded rubber pad for working on streets or docks. The rubber hardens with age and breakes out. They could be redone if you wanted to part with the $$$ as this type of attachment is available for modern equipment. RT
