I have a homemade D2 one here I remember my Grandfather very carefully copying it from a dealers gauge. All done with hand tools hacksaw and files. Would be easy with modern CNC cutting gear. There are a lot of measurements on one of those things for chains rollers sprockets and idlers.
Good find.

I have one or two on a shelf. I seem to remember them only have the numbers on stickers? They are CAT logo'ed. I'll have to look today?????

great items to have reproduced--maybe even in plastic and then made available to forum members

Yes, I agree that these would be an excellent item to reproduce - great idea dpendzic. 👍 I bought this D2 guage a few years ago that I believe a club member reproduced on his own, if I remember correctly he had made a couple for himself and ran off a number of others to sell, it's really been handy considering that the originals don't seem to come up for sale very often.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
