Hello all,
Posted this in the Announcement sectionππππππ. Any way what is the torque specs for the above nuts. Thanks for a rely.
At the risk of sounding like a wise guy I don't think I have ever seen a torque spec for the cover nuts. I coat the gasket as one does not want air leaks in the tower and I "snug" the nuts down but not super tight. Don't overdo the coating as cleanliness is next to Godliness when working with the fuel system. I'm one of those that think a little gooey is always good on the gasket. Too much torque may also warp the cover. Check the cover to make sure it is flat.

Thanks for the advice D4Jim. We torqued the nuts evenly to 35Ft Lbs. No leaks.
aaaaaaah!!!! Dozerman, Sounds like you did er right! That is good info so will keep that torque number on file. Unfortunately I have too much of the "shade tree" mechanic in me and I never reach for the torque wrench unless its over 75 ft lbs. As a kid in the '60's I don't remember having a torque wrench on the farm but head bolts and lug nuts had to be "darned tight".
