Hi all,
I am about to start my D4 7U for the first time. It has not been started for more than 20 years but has been newly overhauled. I am not familiar with the throttle and can't figure out the position to set it for idle. I don't want to accidentally start it at full throttle. The attached photo shows the governor control. Black knob to the left or to the right for idle?

Thanks for saving my engine from possible harm.

take pre-cleaner off and have a small piece of plywood handy to place over the tube on the air cleaner to shut it down, if for some reason It wanted to run away. Being it’s the first time it’s been started.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
