Hi, Ray54.
There were a LOTTTT of farmer modified wheel tractor combinations to get more power that the manufacturers were building. One man over in the U.S, Don Dufner, hooked up three JD 830s nose to tail. Whether he actually used them for farming, I do not know but there is video of them on You Tube:

There were many farmers that took the "we need more horse power" idea to all kinds of ends. But my comment about more multiple tractors today, was partly spurred by the fact of a pair of Chamberlain's at the show in Iowa. People with the money to do what is unusual I think is current thing with how many dual or triple tractors are coming to shows. When you have the money who needs practical.
So JM when are you starting on the "Dual tractor operator launcher"? But something tells CTS and Deas are not volunteering to test drive it for you.
Hi, Ray54.
No, I wouldn't volunteer to be the next 'space cadet' testing a JM-built two-seat operator launcher. BUTTTT, I haven't heard anybody other than me saying that you can get the SAME effect from a hi-sprocket drive machine going over a bump too fast. Just like the tailseat 'operator launchers', it all has to do with how far away from the pivot point of the bump the operator is seated. Behind or above makes little to NO difference.

That launcher effect can sneak up on guy. Had a very good friend that came and drove tractor for FUN. After he died I offered to disc around his house for his wife. He had nice direct start D2, with tool bar blade. One to 2 acres with walnuts trees. I had run the D2 a bit before and knew it did not ride like D6............................but WOO WHO could it pitch. I was dodging limbs, trying to get close to tree from the bottom side. For a instant I thought I was going grab the exhaust pipe to stay aboard. But got ahold of the air cleaner first.
