I was Just informed by ozdozer that SJ, Ken Hunter had passed on last year. I had contacted him for many years around his birthday,June 19 but lost tract of him a few years ago. He had a great knowledge of Cat engines and helped many of us with our Cats. May he rest in peace!

I recall many discussions with SJ, those were good sessions. Frankly I thought we had lost him some time ago as its been ages since we've heard from or about him. I remember congratulating him on his 80'th birthday which seems like it was a long time ago. RIP Ken.

He was a very knowledgeable guy. I am surprised that it's already been a year since he passed away.

I think he was proud of the "Stump Jumper" nickname. As I remember, it was applied and stuck when he was a new hire at the CAT shop a long time ago. Sure knew the things he knew very well. His kind of people are the ones "who get it done"
D2-5J's, D6-9U's, D318 and D333 power units, 12E-99E grader, 922B & 944A wheel loaders, D330C generator set, DW20 water tanker and a bunch of Jersey cows to take care of in my spare time😄

Disapointing news for sure. I recall reading a lot of his posts, a valuable contributor gone R.I.P.

S J was a big help when I was rebuilding my pony motor many years ago...as I remember he had a down to earth way of explaining things...Thanks, SJ!
