Hello All - What do you guys use to reconnect your tracks if your master pins are not reusable? I doubt CAT still sells masters for a RD6. Make a custom new pair?

My RD6 parts book says 2B5979 is the right pin but I can't see any in stock at my Cat Dealer or on Machinery Trader, it comes up a bad number, I'm sure there is a newer part number.

I believe the RD6 track is the same as all other D6 up to and including the D6B. So hopefully master pins would be available from Cat and aftermarket.

Good thinking there Ray, if that is the case then D6 5R master pin is 2F2567 which becomes 8M7456, price here in Oz from the Dealer is about $US30, plus 2 collars 4B5954 at around $US15 each.

Hi guys - called Milton Cat this morning but the 2B5979 part number is discontinued. They looked in aftermarket and used parts but nothing came up. They tried searching with the track link number but still nothing came up. I’ll call Florin and see what they say.

I see a cross of 2B5979 to 2F7415.

Thanks Josh, sadly my local Cat Dealer parts search shows that is a bad number too, I'm sure I bought a couple of RD6 master pins a few years back from the Dealer.

I just checked the part number with Florin Tractor, they show it as an aftermarket part and have 6 in stock as of 04-01-19.
