Looking in the operator's book, it shows the fan shaft bearing as being double row spherical, but in my tractor, and in the parts book they are just regular radial bearings.
What has been your experience with this in your tractor?
Thanks.

Maybe the older pic was taken from the Best 30? And just used in the Cat 30 literature?

That picture is in an early Caterpillar 30 parts and instruction book, SL456. The Best 30 parts and instruction book I have has a different picture, but all the bearing part numbers cross, Starts as a 307 ball, goes to SKF 1307, and then to 1B4117 and on, similar on the rear bearing, first 305 ball, then SKF 1305, 1B4115 and on.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
