When we get down to seperating the trans from the clutch housing on diesel engine , the bolts under the deck plate where the linkage goes to must be removed ? The pic in the serviceman’s book isn’t clear on this point in removal

Procedure is to remove the engine, clutch and transmission as an assembly.

The cap screws that fasten to the clutch housing must be way on the bottom of that trans ? I have much accumulation under it , still digging!

I got all the bolts except the 2 capscrews that hold transmission to diesel clutch housing . Some don’t have? Maybe the last guy said it don’t need them ?
Try and remove it tomorrow

Maybe - the oil seal is an o-ring so I don't think it will matter much to that o-ring if the two capscrews aren't in, but it's easier to stay on the straight and narrow if the mechanic just follows the service instructions. Did it look like there was any play in that area, or oil leaking past the o-ring?

Ok got it out . Thanks for all the info . This one had no bolts holding transmission to diesel clutch housing . Holes will have to be drilled and tapped .
