I was reading in the manual about setting the pre-chambers .....the ones that have the holes for the glow plugs.......The manual says their are gaskets that are alphabetically ordered for setting the holes in the correct spot so that their is not any interference......does anyone know the part number for these gaskets. I checked all of mine and one is really close to having to be moved.

You didn,t say what engine you have but a later D4 with D315 engine has the following 5B3265 is .064" thickness and 3H2237 is .051" and 9F8554 is .036" and 9F8548 is .101" and 9F8549 is .090" and 9F8550 is .080" . Some have tenths after the main decimals but that won,t make little if any difference.

Yeah....Sorry forgot to say what engine. I have a 1958 D4 cat. D315 engine. Now the gaskets you specified will all fit a 4F5508 head.......My old head had cracked and I had this one laying around so I had the machining work done to accomidate the larger Pre-chambers with glow plug holes 1S1970........also the Service manual says that they are lettered and to go to the next letter if the hole is not in the correct place.....is this correct?

All the D4 pre-com chambers are 1-1/8 in. threaded nose.
Manual is correct on the gasket seal sequence.

Size is by part number label on the package.
SJ gave you the correct numbers.

You really need to get yourself a parts manual.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
