Hi, Folks.
Some little time ago, I mentioned to one of the directors that I was seeing more and more posts here on the BB with NON-cat related links attached to them. I offered to keep an eye out for posts like this advise the 'powers-that-be' when I found them.
Next thing I know, have administrative powers - no names, no pack drill regarding who gave them to me.
BUTTTT, I am seeing increasing numbers of of these posts appearing on the BB in several sections and, almost exclusively from poster whom I do not recognise, and so I am serving notice:
Unless/until I am advised otherwise by the 'powers-that-be', I WILL be BLOCKING the poster AND DELETING the post.

Hi Deas this is a site for Caterpillars exclusively and I for one would like to keep it that way! Just my two cents!
Hi, Clayton.
I'm withya. I don't have any objection to the odd post about something OT that might be of general interest. My beef is with the people who come to this site specifically to post links to something else, especially when, as many of them do, they try to hide it within a post supposedly expressing interest in the thread in which it is being posted.

Members -- if you notice something that is not part of the mission of ACMOC - PLEASE SPEAK UP -- FYI - there are several people here that have the clubs best interest at heart and are diligently watching the forum pages. As Deas stated, some of these postings are disguised as genuine interest, however if you read them, they are pretty well written and nearly verbatim of what the original post was about, yet include a link. I would suggest using extreme caution on opening (clicking on) any link you do not know! --- cts
Hi, Folks.
MANY of the posts that I have found which 'seem' to be abut the specific thread in which they are posted also try to give the impression that they are posting a link to something which might be helpful in the context of that thread.
Be careful.

Deas, you are right on! Thanks for stepping up to the plate!!
Some folks are using AI to generate a response to a post that adds no value to the thread at all. Case in point is the Thread about the George Logue patterns, the third post that was added 2 months after the prior post but merely regurgitates the words of the initial post. The poster has only one post. (Kill.......)
There are guys that get attaboys from their buddies for how long they can get a post onto a website and leave it there untouched although they have nothing to do with old machinery or Cats. Same thing is happening on a RC site (model airplanes) that I frequent.
Cats Forever
Hi D4Jim.
Not no more, it don't. I had deleted the link a while back but, at that time, hadn't 'figgered' out the 'relativity' bit.
