Please help. I may be going to see a D8 2U in a day or 2 and was wondering if someone would be kind enough to tell me what the pitch is on the tracks?
( measurement pin center to pin center would be new ) and what is considered worn out? Also is pad overlap or lack thereof a good indication of pin and bushing wear?
Thank in advance for your help.

The old D8's had a track pitch of 8 in.
100% worn would be a four link measurement of 32.87 in. or 8.2175 per link.

Pad overlap is somewhat of an indicator if the rails and pads were a matched set.

Also note position of the front idler adjustment as a quick eyeball check.
Watch out for the famous missing link trick.
Good luck with your shopping.

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
