I know i have seen this question asked before. The old Caterpillar Yellow paint, i believe is called highway yellow, is this the colour that a 1975 951C would have been painted, Would anyone be able to furnish me with the international paint code for this colour ? Do Caterpillar still supply it through finning ? I havn't asked my dealer as yet.
Regards Gordon.

I just went through all this yesterday here in Australia with my local Cat Dealer, William Adams. I can't advise you if you need "New Cat Yellow", or "Old Cat Yellow" for your particular model, hopefully someone else can, but the paint is about $US40 per 4 litre can of "New Cat Yellow", and about $US65 per 4 litre can of "Old Cat Yellow" buying it from the Cat Dealer here in Oz, I think those prices are very reasonable for good quality paint. I priced Wattyl's "Killrust" paint here yesterday at a major paint retailer and they charge around $US88 for 4 litres.
regards
Mike

Hi, well it was in the 60's when the color was changed from old cat yellow AKA "highway yellow" to new cat yellow so your machine would be the new cat yellow but in my opinion highway yellow looks way better and I know for a fact that some contractors from they 50's and 60's used to have brand new machines repainted highway yellow before they were ever put to work!

Mike i think you maybe getting ripped off a bit down south there. I had a 20 liter tin mixed up here at a local paint supplier in Toowoomba, QLD and it was Wattyl, for $180 aus.

Hi Sammy, we are always getting ripped off down here, it goes with the turf, that's why everyone ends up moving up your way. The Cat Dealer here, William Adams says you can't buy 10 litre cans of their paint anymore, just 4 litre cans, the 10 litre cans were around $140 I think he quoted me a few months back and that's what I wanted.
