Amazing what my trucking adventures produce.
Waiting for my first load of Bartlett pears for 2025, and this cute little bugger was here. Runs good too!
Let’s see what else I might find during the season. JM
Pintle hook on the front for jimmying those trailers around : )
Nice condition as well been looked after over the years, I like your truck set up JM very tidy unit also
Looks like a nice little Pear tractor there, with the rounded sheet metal it gives the branches a little edge to roll over. Nothing like a branch that suddenly comes loose and heads right towards you, might be a little noisy.
Get a load of this! Foreman drove off with it; I assumed they had a wet spot they would use the AC on; turns out several of the small NH 4WD rental units will not start/run/function...Such a sad situation, they decided to used the crawler to pull the bin trailer(s) thru the orchard. Very sad deal when you have to use something from the 40's? to get out of a jam. Lots of upset workers, as they are paid by the ton plus bonus for harvesting xxx tons per day.
JM, well lucky the they have such a reliable back up plan
Sometimes the old stuff is just the right equipment for the job for various reasons. There's an apple orchard not too far from here that runs a fleet of grey Ferguson tractors on their bin trailers.
I know of a seat safety switch fault that disables some of the small to medium-sized NH tractors. Absolutely frustrating some of the delicate problems that can render modern machines useless.
JD also has had safety seat switch for many years now along with many other switches controlling the machines. Technology has changed all aspects of equipment and all modes of machinery in general. There is one aspect that endeavor can not resolve - human interface - as was said many times, "Familiarity Breeds Contempt" and that is where injury and death occur in most industrial incidents.
