Sounds very nice Bruce, you have done a great job on it
Thanks Neil. I think it’s a pretty decent old girl.
Today I got the heat valve all tuned up and working properly. Got the manifolds installed and the rest of the stuff put together.
Finally it was time to see if it would run. Turns out it floods pretty easy, I got a couple hits on the third pull, then after a few more cranks with no choke, it took right off. I’ve got plenty of videos on the ACME Facebook page. It’s been a long time since I posted anything on YouTube, but I might give it a try and post a link.
Bruce, this might help. On our Twenty-Two, the starting procedure is one compression pull over on the crank handle with the choke closed, and then open the choke with just a hair of throttle. It starts every time, and it's not a carb that floods either sitting there stopped or running. I wonder if they just have a massive ability to get gas into the throat with the choke closed. That tractor will do that even after sitting for three years.
Bruce, very happy to hear you have it running. No facebook here and I am not too sure that I am the only one that does not use that platform. Lets us know if you get something up on youtube. -- cts
Thanks all.
Neil, you are spot on, 1 impulse with choke, next impulse it’s running. It’s pretty amazing how nice it starts. I’m seeding wheat now, but I’ll fuss with a YouTube video next week.
BP gets the achievment award for the latest revival; let's not forget Skinner (I hope your'e watching) for his cute little High Crop 15 which some of us have had the pleasure of seeing on social media.
Hats off to everyone with so much passion in keeping the brand alive! JM
